Your greatest need in life is to put your life in order before God. The good news is that God has done everything to make this possible. By your own help and self efforts you cannot achieve this; therefore you, too, need Jesus and personal relationship with Him as your own Saviour.

Here are some important things you need to know to find to become a real believer and follower of Jesus:

1. Know and understand that God loves you and He has a good plan for your life
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NIV)

2. Understand and believe the fact that you, like all other people, have sinned.
This means that you have broken God’s will, and therefore you are separated from God and on your way to hell. The Bible says: “ all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God “ Romans 3.23

3. Understand that you need Jesus as your own Saviour
The central role of Jesus is seen here. It is not enough to just to believe God exists. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to rescue people from the reality of everlasting hell. Jesus died on the cross and thus paid the price for each human being. No one else could of or will do that. Therefore Jesus is the only Saviour. You cannot come to God with any other way. God accepts and receives people only on the basis of Jesus’ redemptive death on the cross. Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14.6

4. You must personally pray and ask Jesus to step into your life as your Saviour and Lord
Jesus is standing outside the door to your life and He says to you: “ Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3.20
You can ask Jesus into your life by praying ” I need You, Jesus. I confess I have sinned against you. I believe you died on the cross and suffered the penalty of my sins. Right now, I open the door of my life to you, and welcome you in as my Lord and Saviour. Please forgive all my sins and receive me as your own. Thank you for hearing my prayer. Thank you that from now on I belong to you and you belong to me. Teach me to live as your own.”

5. This is the most important decision of your life, and you must make it for yourself.
No one can do it for you. God is calling you through His gospel message to make that decision with your life.

6. If that prayer expresses what you want, I encourage you to pray it right here and now.
God hears your prayers and answers them. Jesus will come into your life, give you faith and start to change things for the better. He brings many good things with Him!

7. Jesus never intended that faith in Him to be just be a private matter.
He has prepared you to enjoy meaningful fellowship with other Christians such as in His church. Therefore I encourage you to contact a Christian friend or to come by yourself to a church service.
